Fluorometholone Base as active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) is a corticosteroid or steroid, class of glucocorticoid used as an antiinflammatory and antiallergic. Fluorometholone Base is used to treat corticosteroid-responsive inflammation of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva. Fluorometholone Base can be found as ophthalmic suspension, ointment, and suspension drops. Fluorometholone Base could be combined with antibiotics where superficial bacterial ocular infection or a risk of bacterial ocular infection exist.
